Barry Wellman

About: I've been researching social networks and personal communities since 1968. Online and offline. I've developed the idea of "networked individualism" as a major societal transformation. I've also been working with software companies for the past 20 years. My main concern is that despite the $B valuations of MyFace, they are using inappropriate models for differentiated and partially segmented adult lives. Time for a 2.1 in that.
P.S.: Even though I met my wife at summer camp, I'm too old to be a camper now, so I'm staying at Casa Carolina;-)
